Guestkey is an SME Award winner in Innovation, for their development of sleek and secure locking systems which are housed in some of the more exclusive, premium hotels across the globe. Guestkey came to TFA, brand marketing agency, as their website lacked the creative and technological feel of their projects and expertise.

Designing a website that reflects our clients’ needs

To understand the client’s needs and wants from their website redesign, work commenced with a meeting between the client stakeholders and our creatives. With main objectives finalised and a new direction focused on the technology of the business, we also suggested a refresh of their logo and brand that would be in keeping with their sector and also their new online image.

One thing the client needed was an easy to use CMS so they could make small changes themselves, which was something lacking in their old hardcoded site. Our skilled web development team was to build the website using the WordPress CMS, which provides easy access to all areas of the website to make content changes easy.

What a (web)site to behold…

Guestkey’s website needed to be multipurpose, a challenge that pushed our designers to make sure it worked for multiple audiences. Their website needed to inform architects, confidently sell the security of the systems to hoteliers and also be an access point to the cloud systems that monitored their installations. As a security product first and foremost, the designs needed to reassure their customers of their dependability and provide instant trust of the Guestkey brand.

A breath of branding fresh air

From a simple, dated type-based logo, we modernised the appearance by using a sleek typeface with an accompanying icon that could act as a graphic device across the new website and elsewhere on and offline. With the brand refresh finalised, it gave our designers a direction to approach the website concepts that embodied the style of the updated logo.

Starting with a splash page that makes a statement, TFA created a clean, bold website design that embodies the innovation of their product offering. Their new logo icon now sits as a graphic device, along with bold typography and tech-focused imagery. The sitemap was cleaned up for an enhanced user journey, with each audience type in mind, with easy to use menu navigation and clear signposting throughout the page content.

A brand refresh + website redesign = happy client

Guestkey were thrilled with our approach from our initial idea generation meeting, keeping the client informed at all points of the journey, to the final output of an impactful site and new logomark. We continue to work with Guestkey on ongoing website development and digital marketing through their social media channels.

Starting with what could’ve been a budget hotel’s website, Guestkey now has a website that embodies the genius that sits behind their state-of-the-art systems.
