The Sir Charles Kao University Technical College is a brand new UTC in Harlow that specialises in cutting-edge subjects such as Medical Technology and Smart Environments. They wanted the graphic designers and brand consultants here at TFA to create a brand identity that was unique to the UTC and, from the outset, gave people an instant taste of what the UTC was about and what it could offer. We took inspiration from films such as Iron Man and in particular, the 3D holographic representations of data shown within the film. Using a clever mix of bespoke photography and graphic design, we created a set of images that combined graphical data and graphic design seamlessly.
When we had completed the master imagery and agreed the overall feel for the UTC, we created a unique set of brand guidelines that the UTC could use to apply to all its marketing material. It includes information on the correct typefaces to use, guidance on preferred imagery and a copy-writing guide for its written literature and how to communicate effectively with their target audiences.
Thanks to the hard work of our experienced brand consultants and the comprehensive brand guidelines we have created, the Sir Charles Kao UTC now has a clear, eye-catching and distinctive brand that really sets them apart from other learning establishments. The overwhelming approval from SCKUTC has also lead to further marketing activities that TFA created and implemented throughout 2013 and beyond.
